Scholarships are being offered for 10+/ITI studies.  The distribution of
 scholarships may be State-wise based on "Number of students appeared 
for 10th Standard during 2010-11".<br /><br />2. <b>"IndianOil Scholarships 
Scheme" for Graduate and Post-Graduate students</b> : 600 scholarships are 
being offered for professional courses (Engineering-300 nos., MBBS-200 
Nos. &amp; MBA-100 Nos.).  The distribution of scholarships may be 
Zone-wise (as shown in the table below) based on "Number of students 
appeared for 12th Standard during 2010-11 and will be equitably 
distributed in the four zones given below. For MBA course marks obtained
 in graduate course will be considered.<br /><br /><b>Qualification</b>:  Students pursuing full time/regular courses in these 
streams &amp; studying in Schools/Colleges/Institutions/Universities 
recognized by MCI/AICTE/State Education Boards/ State Govt. / 
ICSC/CBSE/Central Govt./Association of Indian universities, shall be 
eligible to apply.   The student should have bonafide admission in the 
1st year of School/College/Institute/University in the academic year 
2011-12. Students of two year full time post graduate courses in 
Business Administration/Management recognized by Central/State 
Govt./Association of Indian universities and which are equivalent to 
MBA, are eligible for management stream scholarship. Students having 
confirmed admission in the first year of full time engineering degree 
course, MBBS, MBA and also 11th standard as well as those in the 1st 
year of 2 year ITI course are eligible to apply. <b>In case of graduates, 
the average percentage of marks of all the academic years shall be 
treated as marks obtained by the candidate.   Similarly in case of 
10th/12th, if percentage of marks obtained is not mentioned by 
Board/University, percentage of marks obtained shall be calculated on 
total aggregate marks. </b> Minimum eligibility percentage of marks for

(during financial year 2010-11) should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees

respective first year of these courses will be considered for selection.
 Normalization of marks of applicant shall be done for Engineering, MBBS

(NET) on December 12, 2011 (Monday) for short-listing students for the 
award of <b>Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)</b> and eligibility for <b>
lectureship</b> in Indian university.<br /><br /><b>Eligibility</b>:<br /><ul><li style="text-align:justify">M.Sc. or Equivalent degree, with a 
minimum of 55% marks for General &amp; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 
candidates; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually 
handicapped candidates and Ph.D. degree holders who had passed Master’s 
degree prior to 19th September 1991.</li><li style="text-align:justify">A candidate can also apply for the 
Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has 
appeared in the final year (Last Semester where Semester system is 
there) of M.Sc. OR equivalent degree examination during the Session 
(2011-2012). Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format 
(given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the 
Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature andrubber stamp

<p><strong>Eligibility criteria:</strong></p>
<ul><li>Students, who have got admission in a recognized college to pursue c, on the basis of a competitive examination.</li><li>Students, who have got admission in a recognized college to 
pursue technical/ professional courses, without facing any competitive 
examination, will also be eligible for scholarship.  However, such 
students should have not less than 50% marks at higher 
secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done 
strictly of merit.</li><li>A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.</li><li>The annual family income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian 
of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per annum from all 
sources.</li><li>A student residing in a particular State/UT will be entitled for
 scholarship under    the quota of that State/UT only irrespective of 
his place of study.</li></ul>
<p><strong>How to apply</strong>: Applications in the prescribed format 
may be submitted to the Secretary of the, deptt. of the concerned State 
Govt/UT administration, dealing with minority welfare, through the 
institutions where the students are pursuing technical/professional 
courses.  The student must submit their applications to the state which 
he/she belongs to and not to the state where the institution where 
he/she is studying, is located.<br />

IITM is committed to develop world class research expertise for understanding and exploring unresolved scientific issues in climate science. The other institutions under the Ministry of Earth Sciences such as IMD, NCMRWF, INCOIS, NIOT, ICMAM, CMLRE and NCAOR also specialize in different areas of earth system sciences and technology. The main objective of CAT-ESSC is to generate a large pool of trained and dedicated earth and earth system scientists with in-depth hands-on expertise on individual physical processes of the<br />land, ocean, atmosphere, biosphere and cryosphere with special emphasis on climate modeling. For the motivated candidates, the training will offer considerable scope to realize their full potential in this highly challenging field. The candidates recruited will be provided this induction training extending to 18 months and on successful completion they will be placed in any one of the Institutes of the Ministry of Earth Sciences as Scientists in suitable grades (Scientist B/C) based on their basic qualifications and performance. There is option for pursuing MTech or/and PhD program before or after placement with facilities for career enhancement.<br /><br />The candidates applying for the training should posses <b>M.Sc/MS/MTech</b> degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry, Oceanography, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, any area of Earth Sciences or any equivalent disciplines, with Physics and Mathematics at the B.Sc level or <b>B.Tech / B.E / M.Tech / M.E </b>in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering with 60% or more marks at both the graduate and post graduate level. The candidates should be CSIR National Eligibility Test (NET) or the IIT-Graduate Admission Test in Engineering (GATE) qualified. Those who are appearing for the final exams for the qualifying degree or NET/GATE may also apply subject to the condition that they produce the final certificates if and when called for the interview. The applicants should be of Indian origin and the upper age limit is fixed as <b>28 years (30 for MTechs) as on 31 March 2011</b> with relaxation as per eligibility.<br /><br />The applications received will be screened and the candidates to be called for interview will be shortlisted based on their overall merit. The interviews will be held in Pune in July 2011. Candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper class train fare. Determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of junior 
research fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for lectureship in 
universities and colleges in India. UGC will conduct NET in 77 (seventy 
seven) subjects (listed under item no nine in the notification) at 70 
(seventy, including four new centres) selected university centres 
(listed under item no 10 in the notification) spread across the country.

 cent (without rounding off) in master’s degree or equivalent 
examination from universities/ institutions recognised by UGC in 
humanities (including languages) and social sciences, computer science 
and applications, electronic science, etc are eligible for this test. 
Scheduled caste (SC)/ scheduled tribe (ST)/ physically handicapped (PH)/
 visually handicapped (VH) category candidates, who have secured at 
least 50 per cent (without rounding off) in master’s degree or 
equivalent examination, are eligible for this test. Upper age limit for 
JRF is not more than 28 years </span><span style="text-align:justify"><br />as
 on December 1, 2010 (relaxation up to five years to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ 
PH/ VH categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be 
provided to the candidates having research experience). There is no 
upper age limit for lectureship eligibility. <br /><b>  Pattern:</b><br />The test will consist of 
three papers. All the three papers will be held on the same day in two 
separate sessions. Paper I (100 marks) and paper II (100 marks) will be 
held in the first half while paper III will be in the second half. Paper
 I of 1 ¼ hours is general in nature to assess teaching/ research 
aptitude of the candidate. Question will be designed to test reasoning 
ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the 
candidate. Sixty (60) multiple-choice-questions of two marks each will 
be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any 
fifty (50). Paper II also of 1 ¼ hours would have fifty compulsory 
objective type questions of two marks each on the subject selected by 
the candidate. Paper III (200 marks) of two and a half hours will 
consist of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the 
candidate. The candidate will be required to attempt questions in the

<strong>Note</strong>: Candidates who are yet to be awarded the PhD/ MD/
 MS degree, if selected, will be paid Rs. 18,000 per month till the 
award of the degree. The associate would also be entitled to HRA and 
other benefits as per the DST guidelines applicable to Research 
Associateship. The Associateships normally are not availed at the same 
Institution where candidates have earned their PhD/MD/MS degree. 
Candidates who are already in regular employment can avail the 
Associateship during the period of his /her sabbatical or study leave in
 a different Institute/University.<br />

<br />
<strong>Eligibility</strong>: Applicants should hold a PhD degree in 
Science, Engineering or MD or MS degree in any area of medicine with 
research interests in Biotech and Life sciences and a good academic 
record. <br />
<br />
<strong>Note</strong>: The Associateship can be availed within 3 years 
of award of PhD/ MD/ MS degree however may be relaxable in case of women
 and in-service candidates. Those who have already submitted the 
PhD/MD/MS thesis are also eligible to apply.<br />

<ul><li>The candidates will be selected based on their CV and performance in the interview. </li><li>Interviews will be held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in November 2010. </li><li>Candidates called for interview will be paid IInd class railway (non-AC)/ bus fare by the shortest route from their home town.</li><li>If the candidate accepts the Associateship, he/ she must join the host Institution/University within a month’s time.<br />
