AICTE is conducting the first computer-based National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012 for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE for the year 2012-13.

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012. Conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.

Admission Process: Scores awarded will be used for allotment of seat in the AICTE approved Institutes/University Departments.

Admission to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor’s degree programmes:

The M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes at the IITs offer high quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable to the best in the world. The curricula for these programmes are designed to provide the students with opportunities to develop academic talent leading to challenging and rewarding professional life. The curricula are regularly updated at each IIT. The interdisciplinary content of the curricula equips the students with the ability to utilize scientific knowledge for practical applications. The medium of instruction in all the programmes is English.

Eligibility:
The candidates who qualify in JAM 2012 shall have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admissions in IITs. (i) At least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).
(ii) Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30 September 2012.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2012

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones. The zones and the corresponding administrative institutes are:

The overall coordination and responsibility of conducting GATE 2012 lies with Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, designated as the Organizing Institute for GATE 2012 .

Admission to postgraduate programmes with MHRD and some other Government scholarships/assistantships in engineering colleges/institutes is open to those who qualify in GATE examination. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture or Master's degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for admission to Master's degree programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science with MHRD or other government scholarships/assistantships. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. However, candidates with Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture may seek admission to relevant Doctoral programmes with scholarship/assistantship without appearing in the GATE examination.

Eligibility: Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

Common Admission Test (CAT)- 2011

The Indian Institute of Management will conduct Common Admission Test (CAT) during a 20-day testing window between  22 October 2011 and  18 November 2011. CAT 2011 is conducted by IIMs as a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs.These programmes are

A. Post Graduate Programmes in Management 
B. Fellow programmes in Management (FPM) [equivalent to Ph.D.] of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore. IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, and IIM Lucknow,IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Tiruchirappalli.

Separate advertisements will appear for the Fellow Programme of each institute as well as PGP-ABM of IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow , PGSEM and PGPPM Programmes of IIM Calcutta, and the EPGP of IIM Indore.Each IIM follows its own admission process independent of other IIMs. Before a prospective candidate makes a decsion to appear for CAT, he/she must visit the websites and/or read programme advertisements of the concerned IIMs to ensure which programmes he/she wants to apply for and what are the eligibility requirements and admission processes. List of non-IIM member institutions that have registered to avail the CAT-2011 scores is provided at www.catiim.in. Use of CAT score is restricted only for admission to IIMs and non-IIM member institutions. A candidate can appear for CAT 2011 only once during the 20-day testing window.

CAT Eligibility:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at Selection Process of IIMs.

Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account throughout the selection process.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test(NEET-UG 2012)- Common Entrance for MBBS in INDIA

  The Medical Council of India(MCI)  will conduct the common entrance test for admission to undergraduate(UG) Medical Courses for the academic year 2012-2013 in Various institutions across India in MAY 2012.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) for admission to MBBS,Super Speciality Courses will be conducted as per the directives of Supreme Court.

Syllabus for NEET-UG-2012:
The MCI has Issued a common core syllabus for MBBS Entrance Exam,Which has been put up in Public Domain for review and Feedback till August 2011.The syllabus has been prepared by National Council for Education Research and Training(NCERT).
The modalities for NEET-PG (for Post Graduate MD/MS courses) are being worked out.

Admission into JNTUK for 4-year International Dual Degree in Aviation Engineering

Structure of the Course
01. 4-year B.Tech. (Aviation Engineering) in collaboration with USFA, Texas, USA 
Award of Degree: JNTUK will award B.Tech. (Aviation Engineering) after total FOUR years of study in India and USA. USFA will award Associate of Applied Science Professional Pilot Degree, Commercial Pilot Single and Multi-Engine Land with Instrument Privileges, Certified Flight Instructor Airplane and Instrument, and Certified Ground Instructor Advanced and Instrument.
Duration of the course:  Four Years
Place of study: 3 months in JNTU (STEP- 1) + 18 Months in USA (STEP-2) + 3 Months in JNTUK (STEP-3) + 24 Months in JNTUK (STEP-4)
Medium of instruction: English
Eligibility: 10+2/ Intermediate/ Equivalent with 50% Aggregate in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.
Medical fitness: The candidate will be eligible only if he/she passes the Medical Fitness Tests conducted immediately after the preliminary admission. If candidate is found medically unfit, his/her admission will be cancelled and the amount paid by him/her will be refunded. Wearing sight glasses is not a problem. But, student should not have colour blindness and night blindness. They should also meet other standard DGCA medical fitness tests.
Total No. of seats: 16
Academics & Training: The practical part of this degree will be conducted in West Texas, USA on the campus of USFA. The training required for Conversion of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration of USA) licence to DGCA (Directorate General Civil Aviation Authority of India) licence, will be facilitated by USFA in USA and JNTUK in India. The Academic Training will be done in India in JNTUK University, Kakinada. The credit system of JNTUK will be accepted by USFA and the Credit system of USFA will be accepted by JNTUK, Kakinada.
Course Fee: The Total Cost of Fee is Rs. 25,00,000/-. The total fees of Rs. 25 Lakh is to be paid to JNTUK, Kakinada only and student need not pay any additional tuition fees to USFA for their academics and training purposes. The Fees is to be paid in four stages as follows: Rs. 7.5 lakhs at the time of admission, Rs. 7.5 lakhs at the time of leaving for USA, Rs. 7.5 lakhs at the beginning of 2nd year and Rs. 1.25 lakh each at the beginning of 3rd year and 4th year of study. This includes cost of study and training at JNTUK, Kakinada and also at USFA, Texas but not living expenses. 
Visa Requirements: Student has to show Rs. 10 Lakhs for the financial requirements in his account at the time of applying for visa for the period of 2 years.

General Information

1. GENERAL: (1) 4-year International Collaborative Dual Degree Program with US Flight Academy, Texas, USA is designed for the advantage of Student Community through which students can acquire all the following Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates:
01. B.Tech. (Aviation Engineering) by JNTUK, Kakinada after 4 years of total study in India and USA.
02. Private Pilot Licence (PPL) by USFA, USA after completion of 3 months of Training at USFA, Texas.
03. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Multi Engine by USFA, USA after completion of 18 months of Training at USFA, Texas.
04. Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Ground Instructor Advanced & Instrument rating, by USFA, Texas, USA, after 21 Months of study at JNTUK & USA.
05. Associate of Applied Science ( Professional Pilot Degree) by USFA, USA after 4 years of study in India and USA.

This 4-year B.Tech.(Aviation Engineering) and other degrees are recognized globally through USFA, a US Government recognized Flight Academy of International Standards serving since 23 years and JNTUK, Kakinada, an AICTE and UGC recognized and funded Government University, established as an Institution in 1946.  (2) Applications for admission will be processed jointly by JNTUK and USFA .(3) There will be no provision for students to discontinue the studies in the middle of the program and claim alternative degree.  (4) Admissions are all purely provisional and the University reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage.
2. Accommodation, VISA REQUIREMENTS & PLACEMENTS: Hostel and Food facilities will be made available by JNTUK on chargeable basis. Accommodation at Texas, USA will be facilitated by USFA. However, the expenses must be borne by the student only. Students should be able to fund their own travel and living expenses for the stay abroad. The approximate annual expenditure towards Hostel, Food and other living expenses is Rs. 60,000 at Kakinada and Rs. 600,000 at USA. Students should be able to show a minimum financial requirement for the entire planned study period at USA as per the rules of Migration Board.  The students who complete the course successfully are eligible for campus placements at USFA as well as JNTUK as per norms.
3. Other Features: (1) USFA has 14 Aircrafts available for world-class training (Single engine, Multi-engine, Turbine engine, Aerobatic flights). (2) Student can convert his/her study Visa to Working Visa within these two years of stay at Texas. (3) Job assurance for top 10 students out of 16 students trained by USFA. (4) The training required for Conversion of FAA licence to DGCA licence, will be facilitated by USFA and JNTUK both. (5) As all licences and Certificates issued by USFA are recognized by  FFA, the student has credibility and eligibility for jobs all over the world. 

4. HOW TO APPLY: Candidates are required to download application format and Information booklet from the website www.jntuk.edu.in. The duly filled in application form with Two sets of enclosures and registration fee of Rs.1,000/- in the form of DD drawn, in any Nationalized bank, in favour of  “The Registrar, JNTUK, KAKINADA” payable at KAKINADA should reach the Director-FUAR, JNTUK, KAKINADA-533 003, India by post or in person on or before     28 June 2011

Attested copies of Secondary Education (10th Class) certificate & Attested copies of Qualifying examination also must be enclosed. The Registration Fee is USD 200 for NRIs/Foreign Nationals. Office of the Directorate of FUAR is not responsible for the non-receipt or late receipt of applications sent by Post / Courier. Incomplete applications are liable to be summarily rejected. Information like Exact address of Test Centre, Rank in the Test and Documents to be brought at the time of admission counselling will be periodically posted in the website only. Printed information brochure will not be supplied to the applicant at any stage. 

5. Selection Criteria: Admission into 4-year B.Tech. (Aviation Engineering) is purely based on the performance in the Entrance Test held on 30 June 2011 in JNTUK, Kakinada. The Entrance Test (in English only) will be for about 100 minutes with 100 Multiple Choice Type Questions on English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, the admission counselling centre is JNTUK, Kakinada only. Admission of NRIs/PIOs and Foreign Nationals into JNTUK for any is made on first come first basis. There is no Entrance Test for NRIs/Foreign Nationals.

A common entrance test (CET) is being held for taking admission to the professional courses in Teacher’s training as well as for Registration for Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) degree in three Sanskrit Universities of the country, namely the Rashtriya Sanskrti Sansthan(RSKS), New Delhi, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit Vidyapeeth(SLBSRSV),New Delhi and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth (RSV), Tirupati.

Prior to this step taken by the HRD Ministry to hold a common test, 6000 students sat every year for separate Entrance Tests in each of the three Universities, for admission to the Shikshashastri (B.Ed.) course. Each students having registered for the CET has been provided sufficient literature and guidance to appear for the common Entrance Test. Steps have also been taken to convert ICR forms into OMR and question papers were designed to test the language skills, general awareness, comprehension and aptitude for teaching of the examinees. For candidates willing to take admission for Vidyavaridhi research programme, the CET has been designed to test aptitude for research and application of interpretative and analytical methods.

The three Universities are conducting CET for Shikshashastri(BEd),Shikshacharya(MEd)and PRT (Pre-registration Test) for Vidyavaridhi by rotation. The RSKS is conducting the Common Entrance Test for this year, the RSV,Tirupati will hold the examination for the academic year 2012-13, and the SLBSRSV, New Delhi will assume the responsibility of conducting the examination for the year 2013-2014.

The CET for Shikshashastri was held on 8th May 2011 and the CET for Shikshacharya (MED) and pre-registration Test for Vidyavaridhi will be held on 18th June. Result of the CET for B.ED. courses will be declared by 10th june.

 How to Apply: 

Candidates can submit online form for the PGAT - 2011 test at the website www.pgat2011.com. The website provides all the information required for online form submission.
For Online Registration the candidates are required to download the Challan of State Bank of India from the website (click here to download challan) and fill it up correctly by mentioning all the details required. The bank account number of PGAT 2011 is pre-printed along with the applicable fee which is Rs. 600/- in case of General and OBC candidates and Rs. 300/- in case of SC/ST/PC candidates. The completed challan along with the applicable fee can be deposited at any of the branches of State Bank of India. State Bank will give a unique 9 digit receipt number on acceptance of the fee and this number is to be entered by the applicant on the online form. If the fee payment receipt number entered by the candidate does not match with the details provided by the bank to the university then admit card will not be issued and application will be cancelled.
Bank will also give two copies (student copy and university copy) of the challan to the candidate.The candidate is required to preserve the original university copy of the challan along with its Admit Card and produce it whenever required by the university.
